City Manager - Jerry Elkins

Jerry Elkins joined the administrative staff of the City of Helen as city manager in 1999 after 23 years of municipal government management with the City of Locust Grove. As chief administrator he is responsible for the proper administration of all affairs of the city. During his employment with the City of Helen, Mr Elkins has been exceptionally aggressive in improving the city's infrastructure with improvements to the water and waste/water systems, parks and pedestrian sidewalks and bridges.

Mr. Elkins was instrumental in a complete redevelopment of the downtown area with its current streetscape.

Jerry and his wife Sandra enjoy gardening and spending time with his four children, six grandchildren and two great grandsons.
