Due to waterline breaks throughout the City of Helen, White County, and the City of Cleveland, all entities which furnish water are running dangerously low. The City of Helen is requesting all homeowners, businesses and visitors using water in any part of White County (who obtain water from a public source and not a private well) to conserve water. Homeowners, if it is possible, wait a few days to wash laundry or other household chores requiring large amounts of water. Business owners, please wait until your dish washer is completely full, ask guests to use bath towels several days, make sure washing machines are at a full load when doing laundry. Short-term rentals, please shock jacuzzies when possible instead of emptying and refilling them. Please be observant and report any water you see that may be a break so we can determine if it needs to be cut off. If everyone will pitch in and conserve water in any way possible, hopefully we can get our tanks back to full capacity and everyone can resume normal usage. Thank you for your help with this situation. We are sorry for any inconvenience. If you have any questions, please contact Helen City Hall at 706-878-2733, Wednesday and Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
