SCAM ALERT: Please be aware that we have received a few reports of GA Power Company Scams. The scam starts with a person advising that they are with GA Power and advise that if you do not pay your power bill immediately your power will be turned off. They give a phone number of 1-800-644-1410 ext.225 and advise that you need to speak with a Mr. Cooper. Once you call the number they advise they do not accept credit cards and the only form of payment accepted is MoneyPak.  This is a SCAM!!! If you need to contact GA Power Residential Customer Service at 1-888-660-5890 do not call the number that you are given by the scammers. Per GA Power's website (https://customerservice.southerncompany.com) "All offices accept cash, check, debit card and credit card." GA Power has a recording advising of current scam.
