Police Chief - Brian Stephens
Chief Stephens has been with the Helen Police Department for over twelve years. He is a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp, a thirty year police veteran, experienced Hostage Negotiator and police instructor in both basic and advanced courses at North Central Georgia Police Academy. He has been employed at Police Departments and Sheriffs Offices in the metro area prior to moving to White County in 1993. During his law enforcement career, he has worked in many divisions including Communications, Jail, Patrol and Criminal Investigations.
Chief Stephens has worked his way up starting with Patrolman, Master Patrolman, Sergeant, Lieutenant, Captain and Chief. He has earned several awards over his 30 years in Law Enforcement. Chief Stephens currently has over nineteen hundred training hours which include advance training in areas of law enforcement.
